Hi Ruffers! Winter is coming and the temperature is beginning to decrease, which means that your dog is more likely to get health problems such as various respiratory diseases (cold, bronchitis, laryngitis, pharyngitis, pneumonia). There are several dog breeds that are more susceptible to this type of diseases, due to its physiology or immune system. The breeds most prone to get sick are those that have little fur, small dogs, and generally junior dogs (0-12 months of age).

Now, we are going to give you 7 tips that will help you fight the cold and protect your dog:

  • Protect them with suitable accessories (clothes),
  • Medicated your dog constantly to strengthen its immune system and reduce the chances of getting sick, such as vitamin C,
  • Avoid taking them out for a walk very early or very late, as this is when the temperature decreases,
  • Let them sleep inside your house,
  • Or, if they sleep outside, buy a suitable house that protects them from low temperatures,
  • Give them short baths with warm water,
  • Increase their food intake, (only for dogs that are generally out of the house).

Always remember to be monitoring your dog and take good care of their food, because while it is well fed and vitaminized, your dog will be fine without health problems and will have less chance of getting sick.

Have a pawsome day!
