Hi Ruffers! Have you ever heard about Maslow's pyramid? Did you know that there's one especially for dogs? Just like human beings, dogs also need certain things to be happy, and in this pyramid is define what your dog needs to be happy. Below we will show and explain each of the levels of the pyramid.

The actions are shown hierarchically from the bottom up, being the most basic the ones at the bottom. The pyramid helps you identify your dog's needs, which, if not covered, generally become the most common dog behavior problems.

The pyramid has 5 floors, which are divided as:
  1. Physiology
  2. Security
  3. Social Needs
  4. Recognition
  5. Self-realization

  • Physiology: Refers to have an adequate nutrition, sufficient exercise, air and sleep, hairdressing and grooming, and veterinary attention.
  • Security: Includes attention, care, love, and affection.
  • Social Needs: Are the affective bond with people or other animals, and games.
  • Recognition: Means to rewarding their good behaviors, and punishing them when they do something wrong.
  • Self-realization: Involves giving a daily mental challenge, such as learning, this prevents them from getting bored and generating problems.

Always remember to take into account the 5 aspects, as they all end up being extremely important to ensure the happiness and emotional stability of your dog. In addition, it helps us to establish good behavior to your dog.

Have a pawsome day!
